Course Overview

The modern TVET sector requires a fundamental shift from traditional teaching to performance-based facilitation. This intensive Level 4 program equips technical experts, master craftspersons, and vocational instructors with the pedagogical tools to plan, deliver, and assess training according to industry-driven Competency Standards (CS). Participants will master the evidence-gathering process, ensuring their trainees are not just learning theory, but are fully capable of demonstrating workplace competencies.

Course Objectives

By the end of this certification program, participants will be able to:

  • Deconstruct Competency Standards and Curriculum Guides to create actionable learning modules.

  • Design and sequence engaging session plans utilizing models like GEAR and AIPE.

  • Facilitate adult learning through practical demonstrations, simulations, and active participation.

  • Develop valid, reliable, and fair assessment tools (observation checklists, questioning guides).

  • Conduct evidence-based assessments and make objective competency judgments.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and standardized workshop environment.

Assessment & Certification Process

  • Formative Assessment: Continuous evaluation through micro-teaching sessions, peer feedback, and portfolio building (session plans and assessment tools).

  • Summative Assessment: A final, rigorous evaluation by external NSDA/BTEB certified assessors, consisting of a written knowledge test, a practical demonstration of training delivery, and an assessment role-play.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum SSC/equivalent educational background (Diploma or Bachelor’s preferred for technical trades).

  • Demonstrable technical skill or industry experience in a specific vocational occupation.
